How can I attach speakers to a battery?

I have some old speakers laying around that I would like to rig up to my bicycle in a milk crate. I need some advice on how to hook it up to a power source, I was hoping to use an old cordless drill battery but if there is a more practical or efficient method I would be grateful if you could tell me. Thank you all for your time!

Well I have heard of wierder things than sharing your music with people when you cycle lol. First off make sure the speakers can take dc power. If they are plug into wall type unless they have a battery back up it wont work. Second assuning they do take dc power make sure tthe voltage is the same as the battery you are going to use. On the drill battery there is a positive and negative terminal you need to find which is which so you will need a multimeter a cheep one will do. After determining whoch is positive and negative on both sides just run a cable between each and that should be it.
You don’t hook up speakers to a battery. You attach them to a sound source. (Ipod, cd player, Amplifier, radio, etc.) Speakers are either 4 or 8 ohm and might burn out entirely if connected to a 12 volt or higher battery.
