My dad has a dewalt cordless drill but i dont know if I can use it to drill through rock. Would any drill work as long as I had the right size and right drill bit for the job? All I need to do it drill a small hole in a rock so I can put a bolt anker through the rock so I can rig my rope for repelling into the rest of the cave.

i was thinking a cordless drill would turn a gear that turns the main gear on the bike which turns the pedal but my dad says in order to make that strong enough the batteries we would have to add would be too heavy is there any other motor i can use or a certain drill or battery in the drill i can use

My dad is like the ultimate "Do-it-Yourself-er" and has almost every tool I can think of. Is there some cool tool or jig that might he might like? He also really likes going to church and bible study. Anything you can think of besides a cordless drill or a bible cover? Thanks.
If you could post a URL or address for the gift that'd be great.

My boyfriend has been just like a father to my daughter for a couple years now. I want to buy him something really special and can't decide between a really nice cordless drill set or a new helmet for his streetbike. Any opinions guys???? Especially dad's?

Im looking for a cordless drill (possibley corded; i dont like the batteries running dry) and I was wondering which brands are best and which are worst. The best Iv heard of are Craftsman, DeWalt, and Makita. My dad has had a cordless, corded, and impact makita drill for almost 30 years. This is what im considering most.
Something with a lot of torque, so if i want to drive something besides screws and piolet holes, I can.
But also something relatively cheap.
Can I have some feedback please? ie, experience, opinions, feedback, etc
Thanks
Thanks everyone. For some reason yahoo wont give me the option to choose a best answer but I appreciate all of your input. @fishlakeguy I check, yeah its a hammer drill haha.
I think im going with either makita or dewalt. Goin to the store tomorrow. Thanks again

My dad was going to throw out an old ryobi 12v cordless drill but he said if I can fix it I can have it. The drill and batteries work. The charger however wont light up when I plug it in. I took it apart everything looks ok to what I can see. When I put the battery in the charger in it it won't lock in and i have to push the thing in it to lock it and Im not sure if the led light just burnt out. Im not sure if anyone and tell me whats wrong it if you has a similar problem or something.

My dad has a panasonic that I really love, but those are wickedly expensive. Is there something similar I could find that's cheaper?
Oh, and I want one that automatically locks when it's stopped, so you can manually tighten without having to put it "in park".
