I have a Ryobi compact drill and noticed the reviews on the Ryobi drill bits are not so great.
I am thinking to get a different brand if possible.

The set that Ryobi makes is (Ryobi Speed Load Plus 17-Piece Titanium Drill Bit Set) from Home depot

I am looking for a do it all kind of set but will mostly be drilling into my walls which are some are stucco & some brick I also will be using on wood. Will not be doing metal so much not sure if a 4v drill can do that. I'm new to this so any advice helps. Thanks

An eminent British neuro-surgeon has been performing complex brain operations using a £30 do-it-yourself cordless power drill at a clinic in Ukraine.

Henry Marsh, a senior consultant at St George’s hospital in Tooting, south London, has used the Bosch 9.6 volt battery-operated hand tool to open up the skulls of his patients to remove life-threatening tumours. Occasionally the battery has gone flat halfway through.

The operation is performed with the patients fully awake – a technique that fell out of use in Britain 50 years ago. Marsh said that Ukrainians could withstand such a practice because they were “very tough”.

The 58-year-old consultant travels to Ukraine twice a year to perform free operations at a clinic run by a fellow surgeon, Igor Petrovich. The handyman drill was used because the local doctors could not afford state-of-the-art equipment.

When working for the National Health Service, Marsh uses a £30,000 compressed-air medical drill, but he said that the Bosch was an effective stand-in. “There’s not a huge difference,” he said. “The drill is Igor’s solution. It’s simply an ordinary drill which he uses with the standard medical drill bits.

“I have used the Bosch drill myself when I’ve been operating with Igor. It’s exactly the drill that you could have in your garden shed. He bought it at a do-it-yourself shop.”

There is a shortage of fully trained anaesthetists so Marsh’s patients are given only a local anaesthetic. This enables him to talk to them to ensure that he is not doing any permanent damage as he drills.

My bridal party has asked me what kind of shower I would like, knowing I would hate a lingerie shower. My first thought is a tool shower! Though I am VERY girly, I also love building things and since we just bought our house, plan some major renos. I have the standard things but, hey, you can never have too many cordless drills! There's lots of little things I could still use (staple gun, etc) all they way up to majors (skill saw). Would this be too odd? I have ALL the cooking stuff (down to lemon zesters, etc.) and really don't need anything else! I'm hesitant to ask them for this!
Home depot doesn't have a registry (at least in Canada) but Canadian Tire does and they have a GREAT tool selection, once again from staple guns and titanium drill bits to saws! My fiance laughed intially (me getting the tools) but since he bought me a jig saw for Christmas, he should be used to it by now!

My husband wants assorted drill bits for a present. I find more fun bits for dremels. Can I buy him a dremel? Would it be about the same as a drill. He has a drill but it is not cordless. I thought about a cordless dremel. What do you think?

I bought concrete drill bits in the past to fasten the a threshold to a concrete slab. The drill bit went in about 1/4 in and went dull. The drill bits are expensive. I used a cordless and corded drill. But I got the same results. Now I want to work on a bigger project on my concrete deck. What tools an materials can I use to drill holes to anchor some 6x6 pressure treated uprights to the concrete slab? I want to build a pergola but don't want my drill bit budget to be the same as the lumber and hardware budgets.

Ok, first things first. Screwdriver or drill? The manual calls it a Cordless Drill/Driver but I don't see any drill bits.

I'm trying to install a curtain rod and it came with wall anchors. I Googled how to install them and it says to first drill a hole(slightly smaller or larger not sure which), then tap the anchor into the hole using a hammer. Don't know if this is right because I'm not sure exactly which type of anchor I have. It is plastic. The directions on the package are just pictures aren't helpful.

My question is can I just use one of the screws to drill holes in the wall then put the anchor in and then screw in the hole?

I am trying to drill holes into seat rails so i can put different seats in the car, But i am having trouble drilling through the steel to make new mounting points for the new seats. My drill bits keep breakign, i have a 7.2 v cordless drill(black and decker) about 30 bucks i spent on it. Do i need a faster rpm drill??

I have a cordless drill and the chuck is only 10mm but ive seen drill bits up to 30mm diameter how are you suppose to get this to fit. Thanks in advance
