Also I was wondering what is better a Black & Decker and a Hitachi. I would like to thank all who take the time to answer and if you have personal comments on your tools I am welcome to hearing them.
Thanks

I have an Hitachi cordless drill 12v - DS12DVF3 - which I have lost the charger for. Yesterday I got a good deal on a 12v Ozito drill and the charger seems to fit the Hitachi battery, but I don't want to wreck it. Just because it fits and is the same voltage does that mean it's compatible? Should I use it? A genuine replacement charger for the Hitachi is far too expensive.

I'm looking at buying a new drill/driver set and noticed Hitachi now uses a slide style battery on some drill models. I'm concerned about compatibility with products they introduce in the future.

I'm looking to buy a lithium battery powered cordless drill. I am impress with the Hitachi brand (price/value). I am using this around the house, but I want enough drill to never be limited. Still I have been told that an 18volt drill is over kill, but weight and size was I don't see much difference between the 14.4 and the 18 volt. My thought would be to get the 18 volt (regardless of excess voltage need) since the nice lithium 18volt batteries will be interchangeable with other Hitachi tools which all seem to be 18v. Is this the correct line of thinking correct? Or is it just too much drill for my needs? And what does that even mean? Any Help?

Please pick a brand... I want to hear what people think about cordless drills and which brands they like better... I have a Makita and the I wasn't crazy about the power it provided, I had a Black and Decker and found i wasn't crazy about the operations of it, I have a new DeWalt and found that my battery dies really fast!. Remember the drill I am buying will be 18V no matter what brand it is... you can pick a drill from the list below or add in a brand that you like..
Black & Decker
DeWalt
Hitachi
Makita
Ryobi
Porter Cable
Skill
??
Please answer honestly and you may add reason in to why you chose the drill!! Any past experiences?

I want to buy my father a cordless powertool kit and my budget is between 5-150. The kit I have decided on has a cordless drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw, and flashlight (w/2 battery packs). I see names like Hitachi, Porter-Cable, Skil, Craftsman, and Ryobi, but I don't know which is the best. All fall within my price range. As for DeWalt and Mikita, I just don't have the money for those. So, can anyone tell me which brand they would choose, given my budget limts?

He is a farmer. He would not use it everyday but I think he would use it quite often. He is also thinking about renting a house and it needs some work. So I was thinking of tools that would be useful for farming and around the house. Thanks
