I'm a theater major, and in my school that means you spend a lot of time building sets. Now I'm getting tired of fighting through the cabinets looking for drill pieces. I want my own drill whose parts are where I last put it. Plus I have a ton of projects I want to do now I know how to use one. We use a DeWalt. I think it's the 18V. Cordless. I don't have much experience with drills, though, and being in college I want to get the best value for my money. So what do you guys think?
I have a cast aluminum pot where the handles are part of the casting. They got sharp burrs on one of the handles and it hurts me and my pot holders. Is there some kind of sanding block or a little grinder attachment I can use on my small cordless drill that can knock them off? it doesn't have to be mirror smooth. I don't have a lot of money to spend and the pot is a good one but unfortunately I threw away the packaging before seeing this.
on ebay I bought a Milwaukee 18 volt cordless 4 pack for a decent price. It was in the original packing and you could tell it had never ben used. I charged the battery and squeezed the drills trigger. Orange sparks shot every where out of the back vents and I smelled somthing burning. Could it be fixed? Is it the drill brake hanging up? Should I try to get my money back from the seller? I would rather fix it than return it.
Here's what i got: a HMMWV with two mounted QEAMs (Maybe using a cordless drill to expediate the antennae erection even further) using the COM-201B instead of the feed-cones. A generator (Not sure what size I will need but I'd like it to be as small as possible maybe even a local-purchase instead of NSN-order but it's got to be able to run two 92 systems a battery charger and a MTS as well.)
I'd like to know what ideas you have for the ideal RTXM/Jump-toc/just-plain-commo-badassery HMMWV (our shop is only authorized 1 truck so it has to be HMMWV)
The biggest problem I have as far as getting the gear is that QEAMs cost about 5k ea and the 201's are 2k ea... the HMMWV mounts for the queams are a 1 ea item (ridiculous) and our BN leadership would much rather spend their money on Plasma TV's and expensive BASE-X tents for the TOC so budgets tight and i have to fight for the 10k worth of gear that's actually useful. I'm an E-4 without much pull so i have to be very convincing... any idea's?
I bought the dewalt pack with something called an impactor that has the quick release thing for different tips, plus the really heavy duty contractor grade drill like I used at my last job. I bought them with my 'economy stimulus package'. (btw, did you by yourself anything?)
Any ideas on what I can do? I 'could' do some home projects, but I don't have a lot of money. I wish there was something I could build and sell, but not sure what it could be. I thought of things made from sheet metal, but I don't have the fancy work bench and adjustors like the sheet metal guys use. Any ideas?
I want to buy my father a cordless powertool kit and my budget is between 5-150. The kit I have decided on has a cordless drill, circular saw, reciprocating saw, and flashlight (w/2 battery packs). I see names like Hitachi, Porter-Cable, Skil, Craftsman, and Ryobi, but I don't know which is the best. All fall within my price range. As for DeWalt and Mikita, I just don't have the money for those. So, can anyone tell me which brand they would choose, given my budget limts?
I would like to know is Porter cable cordless drill a good drill for the money? They claim it has 410in LBS of torque. That is more than a makita. Does anyone have good experiences with this drill?
I left a link to show which one I am talking about.
