......of screws by hand. Thank goodness for my cordless drill. Doing it by hand can be a workout! Thanks ;)

Drilling holes straight for window blinds?

I'm thinking about installing inside-mount window blinds myself. If you've done this before, you'd know that a part of this involves in drilling a few holes near corners of a window. In fact, it's so close to the corner that a normal cordless drill (like these: http://www.amazon.com/b?node=561138) won't be able to drill holes parallel/perpendicular to the window frame.

So my question is, is that OK? I'm assuming it is, but I can't spot tutorials or videos that actually confirms this.
sppedy -- thanks for the tip on how to drill a straight hole, but in this case the challenge comes from the fact that the hole needs to be made very close to the corner of a window, making it impossible to position it straight (because the body of a drill has some thickness, and it hits the side of the window.)

Tedkell -- if I understand you correctly, you are saying you normally just screw the brackets without drilling holes first (thus thinner and longer screws help), but you think it's OK if the screws have slight angle.

West Side -- I'm not sure how I can position brackets 6" from the sides and still make it work. I mean, mounting brackets hold the blinds from both ends, and we all want window blinds to completely fill the window, so the brackets necessarily have to be very close to the window corners, right?

How long do I charge this?

I have a cordless drill, not instruction, never had any and im not sure how long to charge the batteries for, seems to me that charging too long is a bad thing but when i charge for only a few hours i might get 10-12 long screws in before it dies, am i not charging it long enough or does it need new batteries or are cordless drills just that shitty?
its a black and decker and the battery charger just has a red light on it, it never blinks or changes it just stays red, so its kinda hard to tell but maybe new batteries is a good idea, then again i am drilling 3 inch screws into wood so that might be whats draining the battery

Which multipurpose cordless screwdriver?

Have been struggling with my manual precision screwdriver in opening up laptop, DSLR etc. electronics

I now have 3 different sets of manual screwdriver sets so want to buy 1 cordless screwdriver set which could help me with opening up electronic stuff and with basic stuff around the house.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated...
Thanks Dookie - but would 7 Volt screwdriver not be harsh on delicate screws/body of DSLRs etc.?

Phillips head bits?

I just finished redoing my porch and went through a five pack of Dewalt double ended number two bits using a Craftsman profesional cordless drill,Now i drove about 200 three inch screws with no pilot holes.I guess my question is are there any superior bits for this kind of thing because once a bit spins in a screw its pretty much done with.

Thanks.

I am replacing one section of drywall in a room (6 ft H x 2 ft W). Most guides say you need to have a special drywall screw gun... but cant i just use a regular cordless drill, and sink the screws below the surface by sight?

job and recharging blew the charger. Turned out the homeowner had 220v in a 110v outlet. At any rate the large resistor in the charging station, center and closest to the LED blew. Cannot read the color bands. Can anyone help me out....please. Thanks in advance!
Would someone simply remove the 4 screws from their charger and look at the color bands on the resistor for me. Then I can go to Radio Shack and get one for 99 cents.

Ok, first things first. Screwdriver or drill? The manual calls it a Cordless Drill/Driver but I don't see any drill bits.

I'm trying to install a curtain rod and it came with wall anchors. I Googled how to install them and it says to first drill a hole(slightly smaller or larger not sure which), then tap the anchor into the hole using a hammer. Don't know if this is right because I'm not sure exactly which type of anchor I have. It is plastic. The directions on the package are just pictures aren't helpful.

My question is can I just use one of the screws to drill holes in the wall then put the anchor in and then screw in the hole?
